From Mid June to late July 2004 Nik and I traveled around the world. The following pages while not complete will eventually completely tell the whole story as I remember it. One of advantages of this is that I can update frequently, I will try to not make too many small edits to each page, but over the next few weeks I will continually tweak it an all respects.
It was my first real overseas experience as an adult, and by real, I mean, not one of those package tours that have you pushed around like a pawn, (look at this, look at that, blah blah blah). No indeed the only thing we organised in advance was the accommodation and a Eurail pass. The rest was decided as we went.
We had both been overseas with our families when we were younger, however and that's a whole other kettle of fish.
The place we had stops or stopovers and the cities we visited were, in chronological order:-
My notes and books from the first half of the trip, have arrived, we had to ship home ahead of us about 20 kilos of book, inside which are my notes I wrote as we toured Europe up to about London somewhere, my post London notes are here but I wanted to do a Dorothy and start at the beginning. So as I find the time I'll add to the trip. Here's a start though.
Our Singapore Flight Number? 9V–SPL, Boeing 747–400
Singapore to Frankfurt, D–ABVC Boeing 747–400
I watched, the following Movies and TV reruns, from Melbourne to Singapore.
Breakfast on the Lufthansa flight was as nice as plane food can get.
Best bed we slept in? A small hotel in New York, the name of which escapes me at the moment.
Most expensive drink, (without converting currencies), at a small bar in San Francisco, that had a cabaret dance act, of Asian trannys.
The links up on the right will take you on to our first leg, of our whirlwind six week trip around the world, plus show you some pictures of the trip from each leg.
